4 Key’s to Healing Eczema and Psoriasis

1. Homemade Bone Broth, Liquid Gold for Healing Skin

Homemade bone broth is often the foundation for lots of traditional homemade foods. Not only is it easy to make, it’s also one of the most powerful healers for the gut, having the unique ability to heal and seal the gut lining and reduce overgrowth of harmful microbes.

Sound to good to be true? It’s actually not and hundreds of thousands of happy people who once had leaky gut and other unpleasant gut related issues with their health (including psoriasis and eczema) are singing it’s endless praise.

If you’re not willing to wait the 24 to 48 hours while your slow cooker works, you can also use a pressure cooker.

ATTENTION! What we’re aiming for is a bone broth that gels when it’s in the fridge. If it’s gel when cold not just pourable liquid then you’re good to go!

The Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lb (1 Kg) Neck bones 5 lb (2.5 Kg) ‘knuckle bones’ (you can also use leg bones, fish bones, chicken bones or ANY bones that have a lot of cartilage and tendons on them, these are what hold the magic)
  • 2 onions
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 ribs celery
  • 1 head garlic (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) Cider Vinegar (This is a MUST, as it leaches all the micro-nutrients from the bones into the water)
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) Marmite or Vegemite (optional)
  • 12 cups (3 L) of water – or enough to cover

Method:

Pretty easy… Put everything in your slow cooker; cover with water and set the heat to ‘low’. Cook on low for 36-48 hours.

Abounding Benefits of Bone Broth

Some fun facts now – Chicken soup was a traditional dish of Jewish kitchens. It has even been called “Jewish penicillin” and is used to treat and prevent illness. In American tradition, chicken soup was prepared using old hens that were too tough to be roasted or cooked but still made excellent soup.

Unfortunately, the only soup that most Americans eat today is canned, highly processed, and devoid of nutrients.

Nutrient Rich Bone Broth

Bones themselves are rich in vitamins and nutrients, including calciummagnesium, and phosphorous.

Also, brewing connective tissue into bone broth provides the body with natural compounds from the cartilage.

Tissues and bones also contain collagen. Cooking collagen turns it to gelatin, which provides the body with amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins.

It is not possible to say how much of any nutrient will be in a particular batch of bone broth, since this largely depends on the type and quantity of the bones and tissues that went into it.
